What topics are covered in this course?

Learn as You Move

This follow-along series teaches you why each exercise matters. Learn how to build strength properly, what exercises to focus on for improving pain with stairs or getting up/down from chairs. Learn how to build quad endurance so you can walk longer distances and stand without pain.

4-Week Program – 3 Days a Week

The class includes three 45-minute pre-recorded workouts per week (no live workouts!). We start with simple movements to build a strong base and gradually increase intensity as your strength improves. Just press play and workout with me!

Meet your
instructor

With 7 years of education, a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, and after treating 1,000+ patients I decided it was time to become an instructor.

As I was treating patients, I noticed there was a lack of information being provided to patients before, during and after surgery. Many people had little to no information given to them about what to really expect.
“I want you to feel confident with your decision to have a knee replacement and have all the tools you need to succeed. This is a long journey and I will help you succeed.”

Common questions

What equipment do I need for the class?

You will need very minimal equipment and most of it you will have already!

Your list includes:
Chair Bed or couch
Belt/dog leash/robe tie
Pillow
One dumbbell (2-10 lbs)
Paper plate
Therabands

If you register for the class, you will be sent reminder emails to get your equipment ready before class starts!

How long will I have access to the class?

You will have access to the classes forever once purchased. You will be able to log in at anytime and repeat the workouts if desired.

Is this class live?

No, this exercise class is not live. All classes are pre-recorded. The reason we have a start date to our class is so Dr. Sam can manage any questions properly.

What are the requirements?

The classes are designed for individuals at least 2 months post surgery. If you are not that far along, please look into the Post Surgery Course.

Also, because we will be doing some challenging exercises, if you are using a walker, you might not get the full benefit out of the class.

This class is designed for individuals with moderate leg strength. A good test of leg strength is being able to stand up and sit down from a chair without using your hands to assist you. If you can do this, you will do well in the class.

We will work on stretching the knee, but some exercises require at least 90 degrees of knee bending.

Lastly, physician clearance is always recommended when joining any exercise class. This is for your safety.

Is this exercise class right for me?

This exercise class is for beginner and intermediate levels. The exercises will start out simple and progressively get harder, however, there will be modifications to all exercises, as well as advanced options. Here are the requirements to make sure you get the most out of the class:

(1) You are at least 2+ months post knee replacement surgery. (Yes! You can join even if you are 5+ years post op - you can always strengthen your knee!)
(2) You are safe to exercise & have been cleared by your physician or surgeon to start an exercise program.
(3) You are not using the walker anymore.
(4) You have at least 90 degrees of knee bending.
(5) You can stand up and sit down from a chair without using your hands to push off.

If you meet these 5 requirements, this class is right for you!

What if I can't make the live Q&A?

The live Q&As will be every Friday at 10:30 AM CST unless stated otherwise.

You will be sent reminder emails about the schedule of the Live Q&A.

If you cannot make it, you can email Dr. Sam your question and she will answer it during the live. All the lives will be recorded and posted in the class.

If you do not want to be on video during the live Q&A, you will have the ability to type out your question in a chat box during the live.

I still don’t know if I should sign up. Who can I contact?

If you have any questions about the course, please contact Dr. Samantha Smith PT directly at drsam@succeedcourses.com.

Why are there limited spots in the class?

Dr. Samantha Smith PT wants to be able to give full attention to each member of the program. If there are too many students in the class, it will be more challenging to give proper support.
